You may want to try the SCARC hamfest in Sussex NJ.
http://www.sussexhamfest.org/
It is in the same location as the MTA show that will happen the last weekend
of this month. (www.mtaswapmeet.com).
A little further than Wall and the computer museum, but just as interesting.
Hamfests have lost their luster. I am not sure I know exactly why. Maybe
it is all the cheap new Chinese junk ham radios you can buy online, or maybe
it is EBay itself.
I am going to miss SCARC this year and unlike you at Timonium, will be
disappointed. It is the best in New Jersey. A large outdoor flea market,
and a small area inside a building with mostly commercial vendors. KGI,
etc.
Very good folks and decent food.
And for a military show, the MTA show is also the best in the East (of
course, I am prejudiced) I am told by Al that there will be a large MRCA
display this year. And you may want to come up and see what that is like.
Jeff Ciccone and several other Military radio vendors will be there selling
radio stuff, and you never know what other vendor may come with something
that only we know is a diamond. And sell it for scrap. I am salivating
already. Only a couple of weeks away.

Did anyone go to Timonium? I went to the vintage Computer festival up in
Wall NJ so it's the first time I have not been at Timonium in years but that
was no big deal to me considering that last year was not well attended and
did not like the way they would not allow people who purchased tickets at
the door in until after all the people who purchased tickets in advance had
been let in.
That use to be one of the best hamfest in the east at one time but that was
a long time ago and the way it's been going don't see much future for it.
Remember when they use to fill three buildings and the center parking lot
and the last couple times I was there they did not fill the one building
they are down too. Good thing that Frostfest in Richmond is a growing and
well managed event that for me takes the place of what Timonium once was.
Not as big as Timonium once was but way better than what it has become.

I opted out for the fest this year... tethering elephants and such, but I
hearthat it was not well attended? Bill Perry was not there, I also
understand. Any of you guys get there? Just curious if I missed that one
thing I really needed...! One never knows (nor what that thing was).
