I have had several queries concerning my web page of last years Gilbert
meet and the hidden transmitter event to be held this year. .
Additional info is posted below.

So get out those BC-611's, MABs, Pogo Stick, Modern back pack sets etc.
First place prize is a "display" item that will certainly enhance any
display in the Howard Building.

Your Mission: Find the "box".

Read quickly as this email will self destruct in 30 seconds.

1. The small transmitter will be located within a third of a Klick of
the Howard Building and will be activated at approx 21:00 hours Friday
evening. Yes you will have to leave the comfort zone and stagger around
bumping into trees.

2. The Push will be 3.885. The Carrier will pulse on and off at approx
once pulse per a second and transmit continuously. The ID is at an
intermittent interval.

3. Special DF equipment is not necessary and most hunters use "Peak and
Fade" to find it.

4. There will be a removal-able tag on the transmitter, remove it when
you find it and quickly E and E away from it so that others may continue
the hunt.

Some hints, when you get close in , attenuate your signal.

Those with frequency agile back pack HF sets can off set in frequency
for additional attenuation. Sometimes it helps to use USB and listen to
the tones caused by the pulsing carrier.

Collapsing and later holding your hand on the antenna of any radio
provides quite a bit of attenuation. Especially BC-611, MAB etc.

The Grand Prize will be awarded to the first hunter that presents the
tag from the transmitter. In the event of a tie, a second hunt will be
setup and the distance will be within 500 feet of the Howard Building.
The prize is a "display" item that will certainly enhance any display in
the Howard Building.
