That beat up old RF-301, if it's only 500 cycles off that's great for a radio that old!

Subject: [MRCA] Moose and Sq Net CW Test
Lets see if I can get this straight. Al N3FRQ politely pointed out that my transmitting on the center of the channel(5358.5) on CW should be easily heard with any military SSB transmitter set on a dial
frequency of 5357.0 The 1500 cycle tone generated by receiving my CW
with your set on the "dial" frequency of 5357.0 is well with the audio pass band of any SSB transceiver. I was confusing the pass band problem with a transceiver set on CW with narrow filters. Anyway everyone evidently copied the CW without any problems. Thank you for the
reports. Confused yet?
However my last SSB transmission may have been 500 cycles off frequency as I forgot to switch the RF-301 from my CW dial frequency back to
the USB "Dial" frequency of 5357.0 :-) Operator error. I will
add the "pink ticket" to my collection.
Pete WB2JWU was up to S3 at times - best that I have ever heard him.
K2ORS was loud, NN2K was very loud and won the loud signal award. , I did copy his earlier transmission using a lower powered radio running 20 watts, Lou very loud as usual, K1JHM was loud, KW1I portable was S1 to S2 but perfectly readable.
