[MRCA] Tuner for M and S etc

No one wants to build anything, wind 30 to 40 turns of #12 house wire on a 2 or 3 in form, (PVC) or heck just use a foot long piece
of 2X4 wood.(coils do not have to be round) Wind the coil, tap every 2 turns by removing insulation and twisting the wire. Use an alligator clip for tuning. Add a 100 to 200 pf variable or even a 50 pf will work if you can pad it when needed with a fix capacitor. Try L or half pi configuration. Don't be afraid to experiment. TUNE for MAX RECEIVER NOISE, if you don't get a peak in noise you are just playing with your self. It is not rocket
science, TUNE FOR MAX receiver noise. worry about SWR later and even at that frequency the "feed line" loss is nil. Don't be afraid to try different configurations just as long as in the end you get a PEAK in receiver noise.

Save your self a lot of work, put up an antenna and then tune it for the "conjugate" match.

Go down to the local electrical supply, fork out $4.75 and purchase a roll of 3M liner less rubber tape, I have used this tape for years on many commercial installations and it has never failed even after 12-14 years and best of all you can remove it 5 years later.

New plan for this weekend, although don't know if I can get it done for Saturday. Build dipole cut for 5.3 with sealed transition to coax. Climb up to top of tower, cut stupid vertical down. Locate center of new dipole at around thirty five feet and install as inverted V with each leg of the dipole installed to cause most inconvenience to all family members. And last of all remove bottom attachment point of vertical and ATU box and stomp most vigorously.
