As I mentioned in an earlier post, I recently acquired a WS #19 MkII
setup with many accessories. After doing some in-depth maintenance,
alignments, and some re-building I have the thing on the air. This is
evidenced by being heard up and down the East coast this past Saturday
on the OMRN. Not the strongest signal in the neighborhood, but heard,
none the less. I am trying to cobble together the original headphones
and mics as virtually all the phone elements are bad. I find that
strange, but that's the way they all are. Out of 4 mics, I have two
with usable original elements. To re-build the headphones, I'm using
the smaller type earphone elements from some Walkman-type headsets.
They fit nicely inside the original headphones and they work, OK. Now,
here's the rub.... As you all know, the connectors for these mics and
headsets are those large rubber-encased 5 contact plugs and jacks. I
have enough good male plugs but a dearth of the female ones. What I did
get with this setup are two of the 20' (+/-) audio extension cords as
would have been used, among other places, on tanks and such to allow
personnel outside to talk to those, inside. Remember when the Marine in
the movie "Sands of Iwo Jima" was bringing up that M-4A3R3 "Zippo" flame
tank? He was using a similar extension. Anyway, those cords have both
a male and a female connector on them. They're both as-new and I could
cut one end off and use it. But... I hate to destroy something that
might be very important to someone, sometime.... This tome is a
long-winded way of asking if anyone has a WS #19 audio /female/
connector they might part with?
Thanks and regards Jeep - K3HVG
