TBS has a lot going for it:

Lots of weight
AM only
Crystal controlled on one channel
Requires pretty serious modification to make it run on a ham band, and VHF
at that.

But you have to bring it to Gilbert to win, like I did with the MAR.

TBY not even close to a contender.

It works without modification on 2 ham bands plus the CB.

It's not heavy.

It has variable frequency control of both TX and RX.
