I've had a couple of questions regarding the reason for the change of
the primary net frequency. The rationale is to get onto an even KHz
carrier frequency so radios like unmodified PRC-47's and PRC-74's can be
used. (Yes, I know you can easily pull a PRC-74 500 Hz, IF you have
perfect pitch.) Dennis points out the only thing that held this change
back. The average ricebox needs to be modified to tune the new 60-meter
freq recently approved by the FCC.
