The "new stuff" is not any good,

but if you want to give me a Harris, or Sunair or Mackay or Racal
pack set I will put it to good use.

Thanks for your thoughts. My bcc39b will do split. My harris RF-5000
will
also do it for the vehicle. I believe some sunairs and mackays will
also do
it

Eugene and Friends,

I have always loved Al's mantra, "one heartbeat away from a wheel
chock".

By mostly sticking to the WWII stuff, I have kept it all in the
repairable
category, but limited myself pretty hard in interoperability. I'm
missing
all the fun on the Moose and Squirrel, and the packsets look so fun!
The
only thing I have that resembles a packset needs three buddies to
carry
their parts of the set, and I don't have all the fragile canvas
anyway. If
I fired that thing up on 60m CW I would likely receive a citation.

If you look at your stuff as toys and not investments, you will wring
your
hands less. If you don't need to get the money back out, why not get
the
toy?

I would love to see some future wheel chocks working SSB at the
History
Fair. Between Moose and Squirrel and chasing the military stations,
it
could be a lot of fun. I'll arrange for the necessary antennas if
anyone
wants to bring something.

The military crossband test brings me to the question of split
frequency
operation in packsets and vehicle sets. How many rigs can do that
trick?
On SSB?

Rob
