February 2012 Check-ins & the radios used 40 & 75 meter nets.
==========================
40 meters:
40 meter propagation has steadily improved this month. Though still spotty & not yet optimum we have had a few nights that provided exceptional fun. By the end of the month some portable pack sets were able to participate. Thought the primary frequency is 7230usb, increasing traffic around that frequency has many nights forces use to use the alternates 7240, or 7280.

75 meters:
With the
season change 40 meter propo improves. It follows that 75 meters will begin to wain. But the noise floor is still low, and static has not yet become a serious problem. February still saw many 50 watt coast to coast paths, and 20 watt checkins. I actually was able to run net control a couple times with a 20 watt radio.
