It's quite possible that Ray's Soviet set was the heaviest radio in use. My CPRC-510 would have come in close second. I thought I heard a PRC-16 that would have beat us both but I didn't see it.

Joe's net control station for the 3885 net(SCR-274) was operating into a a wire about 20ft long that approximated the antenna used on a P-40. We got a cell phone call about 1/2 way through the net, he was being heard in Cincinnati! The antenna was draped across my head most of the time. I suffered no ill effects except from the ground that bit my pinky finger a few times while keeping the log.
