I was referring to a comment made by KK5F about the length of service of the
RT-524 in service-QSL OM?
------------------\
That
now being clear as mud. I'd need to say, no. The R-390 interred service
in the very early 50's. By 1975 it was being replaced by various
receivers(R-1051 in the Navy). By 1980 only a few token examples
remained in service for some specialized purposes.
The RT-524
was in service before 1964. As late as 1990(Desert Storm) orders were
placed for US service. Rumor has it that there is at least one US
manufacture still making them as well as several over seas. The same can
be said of the PRC-77. Even the Navy TCS, & Gibson Girl, would beat
out the R-390 in service life dating from WW-II till 1980.
