Rob - if you can't get in at first on voice, try CW, maybe even a little off 
freq while someone else is transmitting, we generally have our BFOs off, but if 
you key on someone else he can supply the beat note.  CW gets through when all 
other modes fail!  If you can, try laying down some 1/4 wave counterpoise 
radials if you are otherwise going to use just a field type whip.  If you use a 
dipole or a 1/2 wave wire we should hear you pretty well.
