I had a PP-112 with Signal Corps Order Number 9651-PH-49. Sold years ago.
But the "49" means that the production order was placed prior to 01 July
1949. I have also seen a number of units, including AM-65 and RT-70, in
Signal Corps green wrinkle. Use of which stopped in 1950. I also once knew a
salesman/drinking buddy who said his FAC unit started the Korean War using
AN/VRC-1. And began to receive the new FM sets in 1951. But I don't recall
what he said replaced the VRC-1 (not the FM sets, though). The only "Korean
War" sets that I'm pretty certain didn't see service prior to the cease fire
are AN/GRC-14 and AN/GRC-19.
