Yes, Robert, that's why I said that any RBM on board the Intrepid during WWII
would not be in the radio rooms.

It would be stowed some place awaiting deployment with a shore party, along with
that GO-9-sized TBW and all those antenna elements and power source.  Lucky them!
(You've got to love WWII "portable" radio gear.)

As an aside, "Intrepid" is one of the finest names for a warship in all US
history.  It's similar to the British naval tradition of using similar words
like Courageous, Revenge, Renown, Glorious, Furious, Champion, Endurance, Endeavour,
Vindictive, Victor, Victory, and Victorious for their warships.  Fantastic names!

Instead, we in the US name our capitol ships after political hacks like Carter
and Ford and Vinson and Bush.  I expect that the next major US warships will
bear names like USS Celebrating Diversity, USS Multicultural, USS Fairness, and
USS Sensitive.  We deserve it.
