Just received confirmation from the Red Ball Military Transport Show people that MRCA arrangements are in place and will be the same as last year. The event coordinator has been buried with applications for vendor spots. He reported that 80% of the 300 vendor locations are already sold. It should be a great show.
In brief:
Our MRCA Meet will again be concurrent and co-located with the Red Ball show on Sept 23, 24 at the Gilbert Fairground near Stroudsburg, PA.
Changes to our procedures instituted last year will be in place again this year.
. If you arrive on Wednesday, Sept. 22 for set-up you must request a set-up pass by emailing kw1i at earthlink@net . That will give you access through the gate to the Howell Building.
. The Red Ball Show admission fee of $5 will be collected at the same time you register and pay the MRCA participation fee of $5. An additional $5 will be paid if you plan to sell equipment.
Four commo teams will leave the fairgrounds at 2:00 pm on Friday 23 for a long range reconnaissance radio excercise. Following a MRCA breakfast Saturday morning individuals or small group commo teams will leave after at 9:00 am for a short range radio tactical exercise. Subsequent MRCA Meet emails will give more details on these exercises..
When you register after arrivng at the MRCA meet you will receive a 2011 MRCA badge that will not only promote our group at the event, but will give you and your vehicle easy passage through Red Ball gate security throughout the meet..
*** Please respond either to the mrca at mailman.qht.net or kw1i at earthlink.net with your intentions to attend so that a laminated MRCA badge can be prepared for you, ***
One new program element this year is providing a military vehicle radio information service. This year we are formally inviting the Red Ball audience to come to us with military vehicle radio questions, e.g. vehicle application, radio operation, antenna issues, power issues, parts availability, amateur radio licensing. If we can't adequately address a radio question at the show we are offering to follow up the question by mail / email. We are suggesting the best time to look us up with questions will be early Saturday afternoon, Sept 24 at the Howell building. Bring your military vehicle radio reference material. This service will be promoted with a sign at the vendor registration gate and public address announcements early Saturday afternoon.
Complete program description will be poste at www.mrca.ar88.net in the next day or so.
