[MRCA] 10-meter FM Progress

Al et al:

I built up a battery box formy PRC-10 using dollar store batteries.
The parallel filament D batts are the only ones I've had to change, prolly
because they fed DC into each other while they were in the batt box.
However, that was after a year n storage. They last long enough for some
useful QSOs.

Here's a photo of what one guy did to built a realistic appearing box:
http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/army-military-radio-battery-box-prc-10-prc-9 .
He prolly used this article
http://www.armyradio.com/arsc/customer/pages.php?pageurl=/publish/Articles/Power_Up/PRC-8.htm
to wire up this box and slip it into the outer cover of a BA279 batt. I
built a batt for my own -10 based on this design.

And finally, here's a description of a commercial DC-DC supply for these
babies:
http://www.armyradio.com/arsc/customer/product.php?productid=1588&cat=71&page=1 .

I can bring my -10 to Gilbert in the fall. In the meantime, I'll
consider buying my own -9 and joining you on 10M, I'll let you know if I
end up with one in my garage work shop.
