Gentlemen,

Although I did not fall off the turnip wagon yesterday (nor the day
before), I still find I don't know everything that I'd like to know.
Today, I acquired a very nice condition BC-224H (RCA, of course)
receiver. I fired it up via the Variac and it comes to life, albeit
with about 100uv sensitivity. I will check all the ususal suspects and
begin a re-cap, of course. The thing is, the books I have that
reference the BC-348 and BC-224 have schematics that indicate they are
applicable to both receivers. In the texts, however, reference is made
to differences in filament and B+ circuits. Does anyone have a
reference for the actual schematics for the BC-224( )? Or, can someone
enlighten me as to what the differences are? This unit has 6 volt tubes
installed. Might this be how a previous owner got around any filament
re-wiring? Finally, I notice that the audio output jacks do not have
toiled seat covers but do have insulating fiber washers installed, as
are found in avionic audio installations to cut down on ground loops.
Did 224's have toilet seats? Any info will be much appreciated.

This unit was not butchered in that the dynamotor shelf was used to
mount the a.c. supply with a.c. input wired directly to the power
xformer and not through any receiver switching. Thus, I'll be able to
reverse it all if I so desire.

Regards
