For what its worth, I've been using MH Crystal for several years, now, 
with excellent results and at an acceptable price.  Their FT-243 version 
(HC-6 holder) has proven to be very good, to include using them in the 
high-current oscillator circuit of the BC-669.  They say they use a 
"large slab" blanks to get the dissipation required.  Again, so far, so 
good!   I wish I could say that about some of the others...............
