Breck, Dale, and the Gang,

The 3885 crystals arrived today. Thanks Dale. The 5300A seems to be
working well. it even loads up the PRC-74 whip.

A couple of questions and needs:

Could use a picture of the proper lamp holders. I have some others
screwed into the holes, but would like to find or reproduce originals.

Need some 331 bulbs. A radio shack 1.5V miniature grafted onto a
327 base is working OK for antenna current.

Longshot: Anybody have a battery cover.

Operating comments:

Using an earphone from a AN/PRR-9 (200 ohms DC) This is way too
hot, making me turn the (RF) gain control down pretty far messing up
AGC action. I'll either find a quieter 'phone or build an external
    AF gain control.

Using mic hacked of an H-250. Works well.

PRC-64 TM says receiver coils L-4 and L-4A are associated with
frequency "1". Not so in 5300A it's L-1 and L-1A. Looks like only
position "1" will properly tune 75 meters in the 5300, which has a
larger overall frequency range than the PRC-64.

Regards,
Al
