I found with my "B" model that at 115vac input (controlled via a 
20A/220vac Variac run, of course with 120v input) the filament rheostat 
ran cool, all voltages fell into place per the manual and.... a 20A 
breaker never popped on me.   Well, that's not true.... one day during 
the net it did.  Of course that's over a two and a half year time span.  
I am convinced that input voltage is a key to the issue.
