Will the existing handles hold the weight of the transmitter together if you get six or so around it to lift the thing? I have seen the 368 in action years before running teletype in the angry twenty six, and have had the drawers open and tuned the beast but never realized they were that heavy until now that I have bought one. This one is a real basket case with just about every stage being "Ham Hacked" and looks to be about a year long project, by the way anyone have a base assembly for a 368? The last owner removed it and installed casters on the bottom of the case making all seven hundred pounds nice and unstable. Also anyone have any idea what's behind the idea of using a clamper on the PA screen instead of just biasing the PA tube into cut off? Was it to run the PA tube in a more linear state or an attempt to keep the PA voltage

Unable to cast any meaningful additional information on the handles nor
the clamper tube, I'll add my particular method of mounting and
stabilizing my T-368 cabinet. My '368 came with casters mounted
directly to the shock mounts on the bottom of the cabinet. I found that
the unit was wholly unstable when withdrawing any of the drawers. I
went to a local metal fabricator and had them cut two lengths of 4"
channel stock of a length to provide about 8" in addition to the cabinet
depth. I mounted 4 very heavy duty casters in the channeled portion of
the channel stock and then mounted the channel members to the existing
shock mounts such that the additional 8" extends forward of the front of
the cabinet. This now provides me a safety margin when partially
withdrawing the drawers for maintenance. These extensions do not seem
to introduce any floor space inconvenience, whatever, and it looks like
it came that way.
