Subject: [MRCA] SCR-543D, SCR-179/179 Available

I've decided to divest a couple of mil rigs, to include my SCR-543 rig.
It was the subject of a recent ER article (Feb 09) and is currently on
the air. It includes the transit boxes I built, some spare tubes, and
the handset. Its crystalled up for 3885 and 3880. Its currently set to
put putting a minimum of 50 watts. Both the power supply and R/T unit
were fully re-capped. I also have copies of the manuals. The cost will
be $400, picked up in MD or as might be arranged. I also have a rather
nice suite of SCR-178 components. I have the receiver, the receiver
battery box w/ cable, and the modulator, all un-touched. The
transmitter is another story. Whomever had it before me decided to
re-build it with (as I was told) a "modern" tube line-up. The previous
owner removed most internal components. I have since replaced some of
the original components but the old tube sockets and tubes are missing
as well as assorted resistors and caps. I priced the PA tube and
elected to not go further. I was going to finish the transmitter via a
simple 2-tube, 30 watt rig in the Handbook but have decided not to
finish the project. I do have the parts, however. The real shame is,
the condition of everything is very nice. I do have the manual. I'm
asking $150 for the lot.
