Ray, an RBL-5 and one R-390A EAC went home with me. The RBL is missing the
power connector/cord so will have to find one for it and track down a
manual. There were two SP-600's one was asking 175, the other 425/450 and
was in nice shape, the high dollar one was gone fast, the other did sell
too. I brought another SP-600 but left it in the car. It's an R-274B looking
for a home. I did see two Navy Hallicrafters S-36/37's there too. There was
also some Signal Corps equipment under tables and I think one was an R-105?
Winterfest in Annandale VA is in a couple of weeks and although it's a
smaller hamfest I always find parts that I need and an occasional receiver.
Frostfest is the start of the hamfest season for us in the NC/VA/DC/MD area
with Manassas on June 14th and that draws hams from NY, WV, DE and PA.
73 to all. Tom K4NCG

Frostfest 2009 appeared to be a decent Hamfest, not one of the largest that
I have been to by any means but not a bad show. Saw two R-390A receivers
that I saw their. One for $450.00 with covers and looking in good condition
and a second for $600.00 with no covers and missing the 3TF7 or what ever
that ballast tube is with a resistor rigged into the socket. Saw several
ARC-5 transmitters and receivers all modified to one extent or the other in
the $20 to $30 price range along with a ARB with the tuning adapter and
mounting base for $50 but it had a AC supply installed and was missing the
original connectors. Three or four of the big National Navy receivers,
myself can not tell if they were entertainment sets or intended for some
other use. Saw the two list mentioned RBK for $75 each and saw that they got
sold. Did not stick around the fest all day, went over to the gun show in
the next arena and spent more time over their. Not a bad show considering I
had a three hour ride to
get their, maybe I will sell their next year.
