The RT-91/ARC-2 is an eight-channel system.  The RT-18/ARC-1 is a
Collins-design nine-plus-guard-channel autotune system.  Then there
is the rarely seen 225 to 350 MHz RT-58/ARC-12, which is a direct UHF
crystal-controlled replacement for the VHF RT-18.  Just swap the RTs
in the rack, change the antenna, and now your AN/ARC-1 is an AN/ARC-12.
