Groups,
I mentioned to John earlier in the afternoon (and then had to leave to go to
Storage to look for hardware for some other collectors) that I have the later
or revised edition of the ARC-2 manual he has. And already have it scanned
for reprinting. He said that as he was just doing it as a favor to the group,
he didn't mind if I did the hard work instead. Plus my copy covers both radio
models.
I'll throw in here that I also have the Operator's manual, and the Overhaul
manual that Jeep mentioned. The Overhaul manual is in fact not useful for
fixing electrical problems. There is only one partial schematic in it. But if
you had an RT-91 or RT-298 that someone had messed up the mechanicals in, you'd
suddenly find that it wasn't really worthless. :-)
Anyway, the later Service (electrical maintenance) Manual is AN 16-30ARC2-12,
dated 01 June 1954 revised 15 January 1958. It covers both AN/ARC-2 (the
RT-91) and AN/ARC-2A (the RT-298). 172 A-size pages, ten 11 x 17 and four 11 x
24 foldouts. 24 pound paper with 110 pound covers. Screwpost bound.
I normally get $35 for it, but will take $30 plus shipping from this group
for the duration of this thread, since that was the top of John's guestimated
range. Anyone who wants a copy of the later manual, please contact me direct.
Anyone who doesn't, please don't. I assume that anyone who actually wants the
earlier manual could get John to go ahead and do it. I'll also add that
anyone who was going to buy a copy of the earlier manual because they thought they
might need it one day and didn't want to miss the chance can wait if you
wish. I will hopefully be around for a few years yet.
Marty, contact me direct. I seem to have your old email address.
