Dave,

Additional info - The PE-110-C was built for the BC-669-C. The BC-669 was
originally the Hallicrafters HT-14, AM only and built for marine (meaning
shipping, not USMC) use. The Signal Corps bought it as SCR-543-A. I have no
information specifically on the HT-14 so I'm not certain that it included a civilian
version of the PE-110-A or something different. The Signal Corps added the
PE-108-A gasoline powered 110 VAC generator, wooden operating cabinets, the
RM-21-A Remote, and a vehicular type whip antenna using existing available parts.

The -B and -C models are either the same as or nearly the same as the -A
model. In the -D model, CW operation was added, and they changed the cables, and
the dimensions of the PE-110, which required a change to the cabinets.
However, outside of the cabinets, all four models of radio, power supply and
generator are functionally interchangable.

There was an MWO that effectively converted the BC-669-A through -C to the
-D. Nomenclature became BC-669-AM, -BM and -CM. However, I don't think that
many were done as I've owned or seen at least a dozen BC-669-A/B/C and none had
been modified.
