And don't forget all those unique 28 vdc relays in the transmitter, modulator, receiver rack, and antenna relay that won't function reliably (or at all) on 14 vdc.

IMO, the alterations required to operate a Franken/ARC-5 set (except the R-148) on 14 vdc would nearly destroy any salient historical or technical points to be demonstrated.
