Doug,

Just for historical information purposes, the T-47A/ART-13 was used by the USAAF/USAF and was a slightly improved version of the USN T-47/ART-13. The USN O-16/ART-13 would normally have been the LF/MF oscillator for the USN T-47, and the USAAF/USAF O-17/ART-13A (200 to 600 kc) would be more historically appropriate for the T-47A. The calibration book and tables differ between the T-47 and the T-47A, since the T-47A has a MF/HF VFO vernier scale that allows the frequency to be set in 1 kc intervals all through the tuning range. The T-47, lacking this, can only be set at increments that grow as large as 10 kc as operating frequency is increased.

The T-47A (and all other variants) lack completely a LF/MF PA tank circuit, so the external tank ans antenna switch CU-32/ART-13A (or equivalent) is required for use with the O-17.

Most T-47A units weren't Collins made, but rather Stewart-Warner made.

>This particular unit was lend/lease to the British.

UK Air Ministry nomenclature that appears on many T-47A name plates along with US JAN nomenclature is normal. But few if any of the T-47A units in the USA today were ever under UK ownership.
