Rich,

For this mod to any Command Set receiver, before listing it you should remove 
the four screws in the corner of the sub-panel.  If the thing unplugs, good.  
You can list the receiver as no mods but with modified FT-230.  Or as missing 
the front plug-in, and sell the modified plug-in separately.  If the wires 
from the pot and switch are soldered to the pins of the connector in the well, 
that's a different story.  That solder is difficult to remove successfully, 
although not impossible.
