Hi Gang:
I am shotgunning this mssg in the hope that I can work one or more of you
over the holiday weekend.
Later today (Saturday, 30 June) I will be near Fortress Meade, MD visiting
some in-laws. We are dragging our Scamp trailer and I will be QRV using my
PRC-64 and TRC-77A using CW (mostly) but will try AM phone on 3885 kc with
the PRC-64 at 1.5W RF output!! That should be fun!!
Antennas will be a Buddi-stick and an A-Trail Dipole (40M dipole fed with
300 ohm ladder line).
Freqs for the PRC-64:
Chnl 1 - 3650 kc
Chnl 2 - 3570 kc
Chnl 3 - 3885 kc (AM Phone)
Chnl 4 - 7030 kc
Freqs for the TRC-77A:
Chnl 1 - 3650 kc
Chnl 2 - 3565 kc
Chnl 3 - 3570 kc
Chnl 4 - 7030 kc
Chnl 5 - 7040 kc
Chnl 5 - 7050 kc
Operating times will be "flexible" as there are "family duties" to occupy
some of my time in addition to playing radio.
Should you hear me on the air, give a quick shout (or tap out some CW) and
we'll try to make contact. Remember I will be CRYSTAL CONTROLLED on both
transmit and receive on both radios, so listen around your frequency with
the IF filters opened up a bit so you will have a chance of hearing my low
power signals. Additionally, I will be using a straight key on the 64 and a
J-38 on the 77A.
Here's wishing each and every one of you a very safe and happy 4th of July
holiday. Don't forget to pay tribute and remember those who gave the
ultimate gift so we could celebrate this occasion. While you're at it, say a
prayer for our GIs in Iraq, Afghanistan and all over the world. They deserve
our undying support.
