| As for USS Mass, think of it this way, Rob.  If one is collecting
| memorial ship QSLs and wants one of the "rare" N1EPL (NEPL) cards,
| they will use the mode and freq used by N1EPL, similar to DXers
| chasing a rare country.  AM ops may have an advantage here....and "no
| coders" may have to learn 5 wpm to do this. :-)  Seems like a good idea to 
me!

AMEN, Perry! Keep it real. This type of mindset and radio operations, 
coupled with true-to-life vintage gear, also serves to underscore the 
handicaps that "The Greatest Generation" had to work under to get the 
message through. Heck of a way to fight a war!! Us Young Bucks sometimes 
fail to appreciate just how difficult the task of destroying "The Axis of 
Evil" really was. Besides, I REALLY L-O-V-E the smell of hot military 
electronics with that anti-fungicide that is sprayed on at Depot.
