[MRCA] MC-619/AN-190?

Gents:

I've been assembling a PowerPoint presentation on military squad radios
for delivery at my local radio club's meeting sometime in the spring (and if
you're nice, maybe at Gilbert in the fall.) (FWIW - I'll be covering the
following: BC-611, PRC-6, -10, -25, PRT-4/PRR-9 and CPRC-26.)

Can anyone tell me what was the purpose of the MC-619 DF Mod kit for
the BC-611? I KNOW it was for DF'ing (so sez TM11-235 and common sense),
but what was the source beacon? I thought I had read somewhere
authoritative (like Wikipedia LOL) that the 101 and 88 Div Paratroopers used
them to home in on RF beacons set up by the pre-dropped Pathfinder 'sticks'.
But those beacons, RT-44/PPN-1A's, operated in the VHF range.

I'd hate to have to drop the reference to the -611's DF loop from the
presentation, but I don't want to offer unsubstantiated info to the
audience.

     Thanks for any help.
