[MRCA] Need Info: R-892/URR-44

I saw one of these at Hosstraders many years ago. I think is was made by National, but what was strange about it was the uncanny resemblance to a Scott SLRM. I looked like the manufacturer took the SLRM chassis, put adapter plates over the holes for octal tubes to mount sockets for minature tubes. The frequency range is very close to that of the SLRM as well. Do you have any pictures?
My initial reaction was that Scott must have been stuck with a lot of SLRM parts inventory at the end of the war, sold it to someone else, and someone else cobbled up the URR-44 from the leftovers.
