couple years back I used the TBX-6 that you have out in Dayton for the
3885 AM military radio net. although their were no other TBX radios on
the net their were about a dozen BC-611, couple GRC-9 and a SCR-511
active on the net. The Dayton Saturday AM net may be the largest
gathering of military radios that occurs on a regular biases, think
their was around thirty stations last year.
Using the TBX in a net operation is a challenge, the receiver has no
AVC so you have to constantly adjust the gain control because the
receiver overloads on close stations and needs to be cranked up for week
stations, on the good side the receiver is so wide band that you don't
have to touch the tuning. also think it would be god to use a external
amplifier speaker for the receiver. headsets work well but when you
operate the TBX it tends to draw a crowd and they cannot hear anything.
