My wife (former CDR, USNR) and myself, Retired CDR USN, took this weekend as an opportunity to replace the colors that have flown outside our house since the day I retired. The previous flag will be disposed of properly by the local vet organization.
On topic content: The AN/ARC-164 is nearly ready to generate RF!!

It is with great pride that I report that as of 1100Z (0700 EDT) Old Glory is flying high and proud at our FOL-Alpha (25 Amherst Ave, Wilkes-Barre, PA).
My wife, Patricia, KB3MCT, and I are both veterans. I carry a 70% disability with the VA, but that didn't stop me from digging a hole, mixing up four 80 pound sacks of concrete yesterday and setting the footer for our 20 ft flagpole in our front yard.
Pat is down at Fortress Meade helping our daughter, Gwen, KB4UNT and her husband, Kyle, KF4TIV, move into base housing today.
At 1100Z, after humming "To the Colors", I raised Old Glory for the first time on our new flagpole! It is an impressive sight.,,,,(and "YES" I plan on shunt feeding the aluminum mast to act as a 30-40 M vertical antenna....had to work the radio thing in there somewhere, now didn't I?)
TO ALL VETERANS EVERYWHERE:
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY.
REMEMBER TO ASK GOD'S BLESSING ON OUR FELLOW WARRIORS WHO ARE CURRENTLY SERVING IN HARM'S WAY.
REMEMBER, TO, OUR LOST FRIENDS AND FALLEN COMRADES.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
