[MRCA] AS-2259 antenna matching

I have a AS-2259. But why not just build a low loss variable network(aka 
tuner) and tune for the "conjugate match", A variable network(tuner)would be 
versatile  and would allow you to QSY across the bands.

I do not have the hubcap device.

I would be happy to make any physical measurements of the AS-2259 with a 
micrometer, tape measure etc.  that you would like, I've always theorized 
that the coaxial mast was a balun of sorts. I could  actually erect the 
antenna on my "portable PRC-47 mount" and make some measurements at the base 
of the antenna via the mounts BNC connector.   Perhaps we  could post the 
info for all to use. You can see the mount on the " Field Exercise Page" of 
the MRCA photos that I posted.
