[MRCA] Antennas

This is the second time I tried sending this. The new location may have
space for the crossed inverted Vs at a NVIS ideal height. Maybe Steve could
stop by and make a few measurements in the next couple of months.
Rob and Gene,
I think there may be room for both antennas in the new location that Steve
says we are likely to use this year. This location has a lot more open
space around it. I like the idea of both antennas at Fairgrounds. In fact
there may be room for a vertical there as well. I wonder if we could have
Ted's base station switch between antennas?

do work as well, on paper, as you are suggesting. In fact, the 40M V
actually shows about 3 dB of gain at high angles with as little as 19 feet
for a center support height.

Gilbert is that we would need whole bunches of room around the antenna
because the arms are long, esp on 80M. My thinking was to erect an AS-2259
with its limited space requirements and to try to load it with a tuner at
the base. This might improve the power transfer into the antenna itself,
not just into the rig end of the coax (which is what an output Pi-net does.)

brew up a set of AS-2259 elements, too, and bring 'em along with the
fiberglass poles, etc. If nothing else, we could string up some of the
elements as a low dipole, using four or five poles as end supports.
