Hi Dave W4QCU and the group,

Good on your BC-375 project.

I think dynamotor brushes come in fairly standard sizes, so a check at a
motor repair shop may pay off. Our local hardware store has quite a stock,
and I was going to check them out today, but was fortunate to have extra
brushes for my TBX generator in my own stock. I needed to replace one that
I broke while carelessly disassembling the generator to test the filters.

The filters were fine. The problem with the generator was bad commutation
due to the brush not floating properly in its holder. One thing you could
try if your dynamotor output is low and warbly would be to make sure the
brushes you have are free in the holders so they ride the commutator
properly.

Until I fixed it, this generator made a really cool "death ray" warble when
I transmitted with the TBX.

I'm getting ready for next Sunday's Classic Exchange event in which I will
run almost all military gear. Google Classic Exchange for details.
