Ken,

The only vibrators I've ever seen with an octal base are the ones in the 
RA-120 power supply used with the BC-659 and BC-620 FM sets.   Synchronous type 
units that come in 6, 12 and 24 volt versions.   Don't have all the numbers at 
my fingertips, but the 12 volt version is the VB-13-A.   Got it from Fair Radio 
a couple of years ago.   The base is a bit unusual, in that it does not 
include the usual bakelite or phenolic center pin.   Instead, uses a single 
additional metal pin located so that it keys with the slot in a normal octal socket's 
center opening.

Don't know if your RCA set used these vibrators or not but might be worth a 
look.
