Gents:

For those who are interested in more info on the solar cell charger for
my cell phone that I showed some of you at the meet over the weekend, here's
the skinny:

5 Watt folding solar panel (p/n 339974) for $34.00 from Northern Tool +
Equipment ( www.northerntool.com , 1-800-221-0516.)

You might also be able to use a tricke-charger for car batteries - the ones
that are made to sit on the dashboard and plug into the cigarette lighter to
reverse-feed the car
batt. I found one of these at www.4lots.com. But don't bother - the store
is in Saint Rose, LA and I get a fast busy when I call.

Caution: For either of thse solar cell systems, you MUST use your
car's cigarette lighter adapter to regulate the voltage applied to the
phone's internal batteries. This is difficult NOT to do as you most likely
need your phone's adapter cord, which includes the regulator, to fit its
charging receptacle. But some other devices like CD players might become
damaged if you run them off these panels without some charge controller.
The panels' output voltage can range up to 21 Volts DC on a sunny day.

Caveat Amateur.
