[MRCA] T-195 Power Supply

Bill, It kind of depends which power supply(ies) is/are installed. If
you have s straight T-195 with dynamotors in both the HV and LV
positions, the starting current will be about 90-100 Amps, peak. I had
to use a Marine Corps supply rated at 50 Amps and 2ea 18A gell cells as
boosters for the inrush (Don't recall the p.s. nomenclature and its gone
now). Now that I have mine converted to "B" models, with solid-state
supplies in both positions, there is (virtually) no inrush. The current
in my case is about 36 Amps, steady-state. I am now able to use the
PP-4763A with no problems. As a note, I've been told that the
"straight" PP-4763, with single circuit breaker assy., will hold a T-195
with dynamotors, but I didn't personally find that to be the case. The
PP-4763(A) (used with the GRC-106) has a super-sensitive breaker circuit
arrangement that, I swear, will trip if you're 10ma over the rated
current!!! I've thought about replacing (bypassing) the breakers with
SB fuses inasmuch as the beast appears to be able handle a sizable
inrush. BTW, I also use the Navy/Marine Corps PP-7333 with success on
the A and B models.
