[MRCA] RT-70 progress

Dale, Gene, et al,

Good point that I meant to comment on. I have an AS-2259
with a cobbled up "universal" base. We could hook it to
some radio or other, maybe the PRC-47 (mine's LSB)

This antenna strikes me as pretty short to be really
efficient on 75 meters.

The other thing we could try is the standard "long wire" on
the GRC-9's. They have you adjust the wire to about
lambda/2, and provide a Hi-Z feed. This makes the ground
not so important. If we put the middle of the wire 15-20
feet up, we should get a good vertical pattern.

Not sure where to stick this in the schedule. Perhaps we
could dispatch an NVIS crew to the south while the main
force goes to Big Pocono, My concern is that at that time
of day, 3PM-ish, we may have to use 40, and might well have
trouble with the broadcasters.

Maybe Rob and I have to go up there in advance and Klutz
around. Actually Rob's house is about 12 miles away and
over a hill, guess we should try from home.

Discussion?

Al
