> thanks Ron, but i'm not giving up myself, just some green >radios that are
collecting dust in my basement.
I hate to say it, but it sounds to me like the change
has already taken place.
I can't count how many guys I've know that as soon
as they get hitched, everything that was important
to them before is now verboten and they become
someone the new wifey wants to turn them into.
I'll tell you a little story about a guy I used to work with.
He had grown up in a small town in the foothills of the
North Carolina mountains, he came to Charlotte to go
collage and get his engineering degree.
After collage ho came to work with me.
Now he was eat up with ham radio, loved more than
almost anyone I've every known.
After about a year of working he went home to marry
he high school sweet heart.
They went on their honeymoon for a week and the
first Saturday after they got home my door bell rang.
When I opened it, there stood my friend, after a short hello
and a few jokes about him being able to stand up after
a week long honeymoon he asked if I had some extra
room in my shed to store some boxes.
I said sure, what is it?
He said, "My ham gear".
I kinda got this blank look on my face and finally
said, "huh?".
He said, "yeah, when we got home from the honeymoon
yesterday, she said I had to get all those damn radios
out of her house....."
End of story....
73, Ron
