[MRCA] Radioactive Paint on the TBY

For the information of anyone interested:
Just surveyed my TBY-2 with my rad counter.
Only the meter is radioactive. The other markings are inert.
Contact dose is .3 millirem/hr.
Dose at 2 inches is .1 millirem/hr.
Dose at 1 foot is .03 millirem/hr.
Background level is between .01 and .02 mr/hr here.
To put this in perspective, you need a prompt dose of 100 rem
to show effects in 50% of the exposed people, and those effects
are a temporary and slight elevation of the white blood cell count.
You couldn't get a significant prompt dose from this meter.
To accumulate 100 rem, you'd have to wear the meter
next to your skin for 38 years.
In short- Unless you crack this meter open and eat the paint,
it is completely harmless.
