The last two piece mobile radios made by Motorola were the Deluxe Line, as
in FMTR-30D which had an FMR-13V receiver and one of several possible
transmitters, all using dynamotors (unless AC base station configured) such
as FMT-30D or FMT-25V. But those use an 807 in the PA stage.
After that the only two piece sets were the motorcycle radios to 1958 and
the Stan-Pac railroad radios, but the railroad radios were in a steel rack
without cabling between the decks (there were sockets and built-in harnesses
in the rack.) The motorcycle sets were in black gloss boxes about 17
inches long and used strips from the 5V, 41V or Twin-V mobiles. If it's a
motorcycle set, don't part it out, those are almost extinct today. I still
haven't found the a receiver box for the example in my "museum."
If it helps, you could check photos on my Motorola history page at:

Subject: [Motorola] Vintage Motorola Trans. / Rec. separate
Chassis....30D???
Hello Group,
I acquired a Motorola low band FM transmitter and receiver, in separate
chassis, connected together with with cabling. Got these from a Ham friend,
about 40 yrs. ago. He had modified the units to six meters. These are too
ancient to restore, but I am tempted to part them out.
I am after the possible model # and any documentation, so I can identify the
power transformer(s) and various other components. I believe the
interconnect cables are salvageable.
I have no idea if parts from these radios are collectible. I think the
xmitter uses one 6146 for PA.
I guess any model numbers from that vintage would get me started.
Oh, BTW, I have a Motorola FM digest (Red Book), but this type is not
listed!
Can anyone lead me in the right direction?
Regards,
Tim
