The radio in question is UHF. He started with a radio that had a scan group consisting of channel three only. The radio had all channels programmed, but only channel three could be selected. After reprogramming the radio into the ham bands, he can still only use channel three. When you press the up or down arrow keys, the backlight comes on as it should, but, the channel does not change. The radio functions on channel three for transmit and receive. He has reprogrammed the radio with all channels in the scan group and with no channels in the scan group and in both cases can only use channel three. On power up the radio defaults to channel three and the channel cannot be changed. The radio appears to program normally. My friend has programmed Visars before without issue. The key is a 2135. I have some that are beat up and would like to remove the lock core to get clean aluminum price for the chassis. I think that I can break a piece of plastic to get to the back side of the lock assembly, but, would like to see if it can be removed without breaking something. I think that the removal has something to do with the hole in the front edge of the lock core. Any help appreciated. 73 Glenn WB4UIV -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Glenn Little ARRL Technical Specialist QCWA LM 28417 Amateur Callsign: WB4UIV wb4uiv at arrl.net AMSAT LM 2178 QTH: Goose Creek, SC USA (EM92xx) USSVI LM NRA LM SBE ARRL TAPR "It is not the class of license that the Amateur holds but the class of the Amateur that holds the license" --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From walter.howard.jr at gmail.com Tue Jun 28 16:58:15 2016 From: walter.howard.jr at gmail.com (Walter Howard) Date: Tue, 28 Jun 2016 13:58:15 -0700 Subject: [Motorola] Motorola lock core removal In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: It's actually called a 'cylinder'. At least that?s how locksmiths I know always refer to them. But yes its just that easy to remove these. 73, Scott KB0NLY -----Original Message----- From: Walter Howard Sent: Tuesday, June 28, 2016 3:58 PM To: Glenn Little WB4UIV ; Discussion of equipment manufactured by Motorola Subject: Re: [Motorola] Motorola lock core removal It's actually called a 'cylinder'.
