Hi Jack,
i have converted all my PT400's to LiIon cells.
They take 4 cells (26650 in series)  and the LiIon cells have great shelf life.
No more dead battery right when you want to use the radio.
i modified a battery charger (NLN6531A), ripped out all the parts and installed an AC PS.
It is a Skynet Electronics 15V  2.3A that is 3 x 5 x 1.3 inches.
Fits right inside the battery charger case.
Then you have the battery box below it for AC/DC radio.
i have a spare NLN6531A, but it has some modifications.
