The high split uses a different circuit board, different firmware, and many components of different value than are used in the low split. Even if it were possible to hack the software to program out of band frequencies, I doubt that the performance would be satisfactory. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY -----Original Message----- From: Motorola [mailto:motorola-bounces at mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Coote, Jay Sent: Monday, November 10, 2014 3:56 PM To: 'Discussion of equipment manufactured by Motorola' Subject: Re: [Motorola] EX-500 below 450 MHz? MOSTAR radios came out in the early 80's and are programmable. Any comments about these radios would be appreciated. No point in scanning these manuals if there is no interest. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY From wb6fly at verizon.net Fri Nov 28 19:42:40 2014 From: wb6fly at verizon.net (eric lemmon) Date: Fri, 28 Nov 2014 16:42:40 -0800 Subject: [Motorola] MICOR Dual-Level Squelch Chip is NLA Message-ID: <003b01d00b6d$61fdace0$25f906a0$@verizon.net> I am sad to report that the fabled MICOR Dual-Level Squelch IC is confirmed NLA. I found that there were two suppliers of this particular chip: Motorola and Freescale Semiconductors Inc. in Tempe AZ. It may be a long shot, but it is possible that Freescale may have some leftover ICs. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY
