[Motorola] HT1000 Software

The latest version of HT1000 RSS is RVN4098H, as R03.03.00, issued on 21
April 1998. It only works in DOS, but the timing loops have been fixed so
that it will work on a fast computer- provided, of course, that it is booted
up in DOS. The HT1000 is a great radio, BUT it requires close tolerances on
the voltages used during programming. I have two HT1000 radios, one VHF and
one UHF, and neither is happy with a RIB clone. I have a genuine Motorola
RIB and the matching program/test cable, and I have no problems programming
either radio with a 2 GHz laptop. I suspect that some RIB clones are built
with wide-tolerance resistors that don't maintain the bias voltage where the
radio expects it to be.

That's a unit that I haven't heard much of a thread about in a long time!
What is the latest version of software for that unit? Can it run with
windows at all rented and just strictly DOS? I have heard that some of the
newer radios you can run your software via windows.
