I like to find a working Motorola HPN1007A power supply, primarily to figure
out the schematic and run a load test on it. Contrary to a persistent
rumor, the HPN1007A is not a derivative of the Astron RS-10A, and has no
relationship whatsoever to any Astron product. It was manufactured for
Motorola by Steed Magnetics, which was later purchased by Newmar. The
HPN1007A is rated at 13.6 VDC and 10 A surge, but some literature also
states that it can supply 5 A continuously and 7 A intermittently. It was
marketed by Motorola as a replacement for the TPN1036A power supply, when
used with lower-power Moxy, Maxar, and Maxar-80 mobile radios in a
base/control station installation.
If you have an HPN1007A power supply to sell, please contact me off-list at
mycall at verizon dot net. Thanks!
